Carl is the System Design Specialist that went out to Shirley's home to perform a complimentary inspection.
After the inspection, Carl was able to show Shirley exactly what the issue was.
Her home needed to be stabilized. The relative humidity was 65.74%, which is a huge indicator that mold is more than likely present. The wood beams under the home was indeed cracked, in multiple places.
Our approach to fixing these issues:
After Josh and his crew finished the install, Shirley noted that her crawl space looks very clean, like new.
After searching the web for a foundation repair expert, a Hampstead, NC homeowner contacted our office for a free inspection. An inspector from Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair was sent out to assess the foundation concerns and provide a permanent solution. While inspecting the foundation, the inspector discovered that there had been long vertical cracks on both the exterior and interior foundation walls. As a result of Justin's thorough investigation, it became apparent that the cracks were symptomatic of foundation settlement.
Justin recommended installing a foundation pier system to solve the problem. When the soils below the house cannot support the weight of the structure, the foundation will settle. To provide a warranted, permanent solution for this home, Helical Piers were installed. Helical pier systems transfer the weight of your home to strong supporting soils, ensuring stabilization and allowing the home to be raised back to its original position.
