Challenge

When a Wilmington, NC homeowner needed a solution to stop water from flooding their home every time it rained, he contacted our office. Due to the angled driveway, water flows down and underneath the door and into the home. Our waterproofing specialist Breck B. assessed the problem and determined how to prevent the home from flooding next time it rains.

Solution

The most effective way to prevent this home from flooding the next time it rains was to install our TrenchDrain Grated Drainage System and a SmartSump Pump System with a UltraSump battery back up. The TrenchDrain Grated Drainage System is designed to capture water from heavy rainfall and redirect it to the sump pump, where it is then pumped out and away from the home. In the event of a power outage, the UltraSump Battery Back Up System assures continuous protection.

The TrenchDrain system was installed along the side of the home to effectively capture water at the top of the driveway.

The rainwater that is collected in the drainage system will flow to the SmartSump Pump System to be pump away from the home's foundation.

The TrenchDrain System will capture water that drains down the driveway to prevent it from entering the home from under the door.

When it rained, water drained down the customers driveway and seeped under the door that caused their home to flood.

A trench is made to install the TrenchDrain System.

PVC piping is placed to connect to the sump pump and LawnScape outlet to ensure the water is safely drained away from the homes foundation.

Sump Pump Installation

The SmartSump Pump System and Ultra Sump Pump Battery Backup System will provide the protection this homeowner needs to prevent their home from flooding. In the event of a power outrage, the UltraSump will continuously work to prevent flooding.
