Chester contacted Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair because he had noticed that there were some sagging floors in his home in Erwin, NC. Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair owner Christopher Reeves met with Chester to go over the crawl space of the home and find out what was causing the sagging floor issues that he was experiencing. Chris found that Chester's problems were due to softwood caused by a moisture problem and the best way to stabilize the wood would be to install the Smart Jack System along with a steel beam to raise the floors back level until he could afford to take care of the moisture issue. A Wade, NC resident reached out to our office concerned about their foundation. After inspecting the property, we found that the foundation was sinking, which had caused noticeable cracks on the exterior. To address the issue, we installed our helical pier system. This solution works by driving steel piers deep into stable soil layers and securing them to the foundation, effectively lifting and stabilizing it to prevent further sinking and repair the damage.

As a result of moisture damage in the crawl space, the floor above was sagging. We installed our SmartJack Support System to lift the sagging floors back to their original level position. 

Water affected the foundation by causing soil erosion and instability, leading to settlement. Excessive water can wash away soil beneath the foundation, creating voids and causing the foundation to sink or settle unevenly. Helical piers were installed to stabilize and support the foundation by transferring the structure's weight to more stable soil layers below.
